  
There remain numerous diseases to which adequate or efficient therapies/ treatments have yet to be developed, leaving those patients with few treatment options We believe that our mission at Perseus Proteomics Inc. (PPMX) is to develop therapeutic antibodies that not only address these unmet medical challenges, but also contribute to the quality of life of patients worldwide. In pursuit of this mission, we are developing novel therapeutic antibodies utilizing our accumulated antibody production expertise, advanced target identification and expression technologies, and an intimate research network with LSBM (Laboratory for Systems Biology and Medicine at the University of Tokyo). Since the foundation of our company in February 2001, we have focused on generating antibodies of only the highest quality. We completed one of our initial goals by generating high quality monoclonal antibodies to all forty-eight members of the nuclear hormone receptor family, (the first and only company to do so) which we now sell worldwide. Our first therapeutic antibody targeting liver cancer was co-developed with a large pharmaceutical company and is currently in clinical trials. In addition, we have developed a high-sensitivity biomarker assay for cardiovascular disease and are now promoting its global testing. In 2009, PPMX has become a subsidiary of FUJIFILM, and will look to further expand our successful research and development partnership through the fusion of our advanced technologies to enhance our antibody development and engineering and to increase our efficiency in bringing novel therapeutic antibody seeds with strong therapeutic and safety profiles to the marketplace. We are always cognizant of the fact that many patients lack effective treatments, and with this in mind, we have dedicated ourselves to the research and development of effective antibody therapeutics capable of meeting the unmet needs of patients struggling with illness to provide them with the hope for better outcomes and a better quality of life. |
