Participation in National Institute of Biomedical Innovation Project

Perseus Proteomics Inc. announces its participation in the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation Project entitled "Development of Genome Derived Antibody based Therapeutics for an Integrated Diagnosis and Cure for Cancer and Lifestyle-related illnessesh.

At the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo, over 1200 target proteins associated with cancer, lifestyle-related illnesses, and cardiovascular disease were identified from gene discovery analyses of over 22,000 genes, and systematically utilizing proprietary baculovirus (BV) protein expression technology, high sensitivity monoclonal antibodies are raised against identified targets. These antibodies are then tested for their potential as lead compounds for antibody based therapeutics or for their potential in diagnostic applications, such as blood screening, pathological applications, external imaging and diagnostic medicine. Additionally antibodies may also serve for use in various research applications.
